The Longridge Vineyards
MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE

Our moderate Mediterranean climate contributes towards the even ripening of the grapes, with cooling breezes pushing in from nearby False Bay during the afternoons and cool air rolling down the mountain at night. This makes it generally a few degrees cooler than the rest of Stellenbosch. Average annual rainfall is approximately 800mm and the clay sub-soil has good water-holding capacity, however we can irrigate in dry years to preserve quality.
Our soils are essentially decomposed granite over iron rich clay, which are ideal for the varieties we grow. We are focussed on improving the mineral make-up and organic matter in our soils and employ bio-dynamic practices to great effect to accomplish this.

Longridge Wine shop
TRULY UNIQUE
As we farm organically, the garden activities can be seen from the veranda and often the sound of the Nguni cattle grazing the vineyards can be heard drifting towards the main building.
Our Wine Shop stocks select vintage Magnum wines, all the current vintages and one or two wines not readily available to the public.
Tastings are charged at R 45 p/p and it includes a selection of five wines. Tasting fee of the guest, purchasing 6 bottles of more, will be waived. Cellar tours are offered by appointment only.
New to the line-up is an array of platters ranging from cheese and charcutery to biltong and olives. For more information contact us at 021 855 2005 (079 881 7363) or email us on info@longridge.co.za.

Tastings & Pairings
WINE CLUBS
We would like to extend an invitation to all local wine clubs to have the opportunity to taste and purchase the wines at cellar door prices in their chosen venue.
Our knowledgeable brand ambassadors will present the wines and explore the philosophy and technical details behind the wines in detail, encompassing organic farming principles and their effect on the wine, as well as the finer points of wine production and appreciation.
Longridge is also offering this service to wine clubs/groups in the Gauteng area to coincide with our regular trips. To book a tasting and discuss your requirements please contact Harriet de Villiers at orders@longridge.co.za or on 082 924 0807 .
